KCRW TRIP TO ROME OCTOBER 2017 UPDATE
kcrw trip to rome: update
Hello!
I'm so glad that you will be joining us in Rome in October. I hope by now you've received a copy of my book, Eating Rome, and may even have started doing your 'homework!" Since we will be covering a lot of ground during our week together, I wanted to send you some more, specific, information about some of the places we'll be visiting. For the most part the information concerning the food we will be eating leads back to my blog posts. I am also supplying links to the Wikipedia entries of some of the monuments we will be visiting. These links correspond to the itinerary that you have already received.
When you arrive in Rome, you'll find a copy of the itinerary waiting for you in your hotel room, along with some other information.

questions & information
FYI: For the food focussed part of our trip, Evan, Sophie and I will be sharing our love and knowledge of Roman traditions. For the historical part of our trip, we will be accompanied by several excellent guides who specialize in that area.
If you have any questions concerning what we'll be doing/seeing/eating send me an email. Also, if you have any dietary restrictions, please let me know so that I can make sure you don't go hungry! (not really a risk on this tour).
Packing: Rome is a pretty casual city, and most of the places we will be going to will be very relaxed. During the day, pants and a top are just fine. Even jeans are good. In the evenings, if you’d like to get a bit more dressed up you can, but it’s still quite laid back. The most important thing, especially during the day, is that you are comfortable. Please make sure you bring comfortable walking shoes, since we will be walking a lot, and the streets of Rome are cobblestoned and uneven.
Weather: The weather during October should still be pretty warm in the day. But please make sure you bring a jacket or sweater for the evenings. October usually isn't very rainy, but I can't promise anything.
and finally....
I'm so looking forward to meeting all of you! In the meantime, to find out more about me, you can visit my blog and follow me along on Facebook or Instagram. I received your email address from KCRW, but will only be using it to communicate about the tour. If you'd like me to sign you up for my , just let me know.
I know you are already familiar with Evan from her show Good Food on KCRW. But for more information about my daughter and business partner Sophie, you can visit her website or follow her along on Instagram. (Which is equal parts baby goats and pasta).
See you soon!
Elizabeth
You'll have some free time while in Rome, and if you'd like some suggestions for restaurants, all my favorite places are in my app, Eat Italy, available on iTunes. Eat Italy is a free app, and Eat Rome is available as an in app purchase.
