June 2018 Newsletter from Elizabeth Minchilli
june 2018 newsletter
I had all sorts of intentions to pre-write my June newsletter, since I knew I would be traveling on book tour, but here I am, in a hotel room in Washington, DC playing catch up. So please excuse the briefness of this note, but know that it is short because I AM HAVING TOO MUCH FUN!!
First of all: Eating My Way Through Italy is out!!! The official publication date was May 29 and so many of you have already written to me to tell me that your copies have arrived. Thank you so much for pre-ordering!! And I'd love to hear back from you once you've had a chance to read it. (And if you've bought your copy through Amazon, reviews are always appreciated!!)
As I write this I'm nursing my throat with a HUGE cup of take out coffee (when in America….) because I'm in danger of losing my voice since I've been having so much fun talking to everyone who has come to my book events so far. It was great seeing so many of you in New York at Eataly and Via Carota and in Boston at Eataly and Sportello. I"m currently in DC and last night's event at the Smithsonian, with my friend Ann Mah, was sold out. The only problem so far during this trip is that we keep running out of books, which I guess is a pretty good problem to have.
I have one more event tonight at Via Umbria, in DC, before I jet off to the West Coast (LA and SF) tomorrow morning. If you are in LA there is still room at the book signing and interview with Evan Kleiman at Now Serving on Sunday at 5pm on June 3 and just a few spaces left for my Eataly LA event on June 5 . And in San Francisco, I'll be at the Italian Cultural Institute (with Evan again) on June 6, and at Market Hall Foods and Omnivore Books on June 7. After that? Back to Italy!
I'll be back soon with the regularly scheduled programming full of news, links and recipes. For now here are some photos from life on the road.Which as you can see is just as full of Negronis and Parmigiano and friends as my life back in Rome.
Cheers!!

Eating My Way Through Italy, celebrates the differences in the world’s favorite cuisine.
Divided geographically, Eating My Way Through Italy looks at all the different aspects of Italian food culture. Whether it’s pizza in Naples, deep fried calamari in Venice, anchovies in Amalfi, an elegant dinner in Milan, gathering and cooking capers on Pantelleria, or hunting for truffles in Umbria each chapter includes, not just anecdotes, personal stories and practical advice, but also recipes that explore the cultural and historical references that make these subjects timeless.
