EATING MY WAY THOUGH ITALY
June 2019 Newsletter
Hello from vacation land. It's been quite a busy couple of years (wrote two books, did two book tours, etc) and so I decided to take a 10 day break from everything. A real vacation. While most of my life may look like I'm on constant vacation, (from villas in Umbria to luxury hotels in Puglia) for the most part it's my job. I love it. Don't get me wrong. But it is work and I'm often far away from family.
But this week I needed to really disconnect and so found a great place, perched on a hill, over looking the sea. Sophie and Domenico are here too. (we are missing Emma!) I may, or may not, get out of bed since I can see said sea from the comfort of my pillows. It's that kind of vacation, and much needed.
But then today I realized it was June 1. Time for this newsletter. I was going to sit down and write something a bit longer, but that sort of negates the spirit of completely disconnecting, right?
But I realized I'm not so good at that completely disconnecting thing. So my compromise is to send you this letter with a few of the views I've been enjoying this week.
Don't worry, I'll be back in touch with more news next month. And if you want daily updates, I haven't been so drastic as to have completely given up on Instagram. ;)
x,Elizabeth
P.S. Yes, I'll be writing up a blog post with my tips for spending time in Ponza where this magic vacation is currently taking place.
