I hope you had a wonderful day full of turkey, stuffing, friends, and family. Since Thanksgiving is not a holiday here in Italy, I celebrated with friends at what has become an annual event: Tuscgiving. It’s basically what a Tuscan who has never celebrated Thanksgiving in the USA thinks a Thanksgiving menu should be. Turns out that means a LOT of turkey. It in no way settled my cravings for stuffing, gravy, and pumpkin pie, but it does mean a lot to be with good friends to celebrate a holiday when I am far from family.
A holiday that has made more inroads here in Italy is Black Friday. However, how they celebrate the day after Thanksgiving when they don’t actually celebrate Thanksgiving is a mystery to me. In any case, there are tons of signs everywhere offering discounts on just about everything. So I thought I’d jump on this new Italian tradition and offer readers of my newsletter a special discount on the Premium version.
As a reminder Premium subscribers receive first access to newly announced tours (which tend to sell out fast). You will also get extra newsletters each month, including video tutorials, meal plans, and travel tips plus full access to the archives.
Already signed up for my Premium version? Thank you!! Maybe you know someone else who may enjoy it. It makes the perfect gift.
I want to thank you all so much for being part of this community. It’s grown so much over the last few years, and I have you to thank. I love sharing everything I love about Italy with you, and I especially love hearing back from you. I know it takes time to read, comment, and share, and I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to join in.
I hope you had a happy Thanksgiving!
Or, as no one at all ever says here: Buon Giorno del Ringraziamento!
x, Elizabeth
