Whenever I take a train in Italy (and I do this a LOT) I get tons of questions about it. So I thought I’d create this post to share both practical information as well as my own personal preferences about train travel in Italy.
First of all I have to reveal a bias. I LOVE taking the train. If I could take a train when I go back to the USA I would. I’ve never loved long car rides and these days I find air travel as annoying as everyone else. And the trains in Italy are fantastic! For the most part they run on time, the website and app to buy tickets work perfectly, and they can get you almost anywhere you want to go in Italy.
