I know it looks like I’m traveling all the time (and I am) but it’s mostly to do with our tour company. I’m always on the road researching in Italy. So when it comes time to take a ‘real’ vacation I like to go somewhere I’m definitely NOT leading a tour to. And I also like someone else to do the planning. Also, since my time off happens in the hottest part of the year in Italy, I want to go somewhere where we can be cold. This year we picked Iceland.
I’d been there once before, in 2012, on a wild and whacky press trip with my friend Evan. So it was definitely time for a return. At the time - 12 years ago - Iceland was just coming out of a financial disaster and they were trying to promote the idea of tourism. Fast forward to today when it seems like everyone we know is planning or has just gotten back from Iceland.
Just in case you’re thinking of going on your own Icelandic adventure, I thought I’d share our itinerary with you.
