This past Saturday in Rome was rainy which I thought was fantastic! First of all we need the rain. Secondly? Any reason to stay inside and cozy on a winter day is fine by me. I decided the best use of my time would be to spend the day in the kitchen. So I invited a couple of friends over for dinner. Here is my fairly easy plan for a weekend dinner party. It does take a bit of cooking, but that is the point. What else are you going to do on a rainy weekend afternoon?
The menu took shape based on what Domenico had brought me earlier in the week from our vegetable garden in Umbria. A huge head of Romanesco cauliflower turned into soup. A bag full of kale was a side dish. Since one of my friends is a pescatarian, I decided fish would be our main course.
