Last week, while we were up in Umbria, I had our neighbors over for dinner. Even though it was just the 5 of us, I wanted to make it special. We’d been over to Patrizia’s house a few times, and it was my turn. Somehow, in the summer, we’ve both got too many house guests to make it work, so a quiet night in January was perfect. It was very cozy: we sat in the kitchen, the fire was lit, and the menu was very wintery. Soup, of course, but also stewed pork.
