I was thinking of lemon granita (or orange) with Cinzano Rosso. Mmmm, maybe I'll try it and let you know.

Only 93F in Grass Valley CA today.

My train has just pulled out of Roma Termini after a day of sightseeing in the heat 😂 We considered not going (we’re on holiday in Sicily for a few weeks and booked the Rome day trip a while ago) but went for it. A LOT of granita, gelato and iced cappuccinos were consumed, we survived and had a great time but yes...don’t go to Rome in July guys!

Haha! No we flew from Palermo - the train was taking us back to Rome airport 😄 8am flight out, 10.30pm flight back

Sounds like a great idea for the summer. I'll keep it in mind. Seeing as we had a heavy white frost yesterday morning, I'll be saving it for our Australian summer. Thanks, Elizabeth.

Is iced tea a “thing” in Italy? I love iced coffee, especially with cream on top. Keep cool wherever you are in the world.

I risked off to make this yesterday. But 24 hours later it is not freezing - it’s staying syrupy. No ice crystals. Obviously I mucked up the proportions, but any specific advice other than “follow the recipe exactly, you dummy”? I put in a quart of simple syrup, 3 cups lemon juice and pulp, 1/2 cup of homemade fig syrup. Too much sugar? Something in the figs? Any way to rescue it?

It's hard for me to day since you kind of made up your own recipe. Also I have no idea what home made fig syrup is? But if it's 'syrupy' then I would say that's your problem. It shouldn't be syrupy at all. It should be watery. So if it's thick, then it sounds like that may be the problem
