Why should readers be boosters? These requests are time consuming and all in your interests, not ours. Sorry but word of mouth and good content should be all you need to grow.
Since the paying version of my newsletter actually costs money to subscribe to, this is a way for readers to get a free subscription in exchange for recommending my newsletter to friends. I'm not sure how this is time consuming? And yes, it's obviously in my interest. But also readers are gaining a free subscription, so in their interest too.
