The Culture of Food in Salento & Central Puglia with Sophie Minchilli
April 14-20, 2024
Since all of Sophie’s tours to Salento have sold out, we’ve decided to add this Springtime week to our schedule. Spring is a gorgeous time of year in Puglia: warm enough to eat outside during the day but none of the torrid summer heat. Wildflowers blanket the landscape, and the fields of wheat are brilliant green. For this week, Sophie is joined by her friend and colleague Angelo for this food-focused six-day feast through Puglia. We will be based in two gorgeous places: the Baroque town of Lecce and the seaside village of Monopoli. We’ll also be visiting some of our favorite towns, including Ostuni, Gallipoli, Galatina, and Bari, to explore the food, wine, and history of southern and central Puglia.
A few of the things we’ll be doing:
Welcome drinks and dinner in Lecce
Market tour, cooking class, and lunch
Visits to off-the-beaten-track villages
A day learning all about olive oil
A visit and lunch in a cave in Ostuni
Cheese and pasta-making class at a farm
Visit to Unesco town Alberobello
Seafood feasts in Monopoli and Gallipoli
Visit the pasta ladies in Bari
and more

Hello,
I’m concerned Palermo is burning why would you promote it on a tour? I do understand perhaps this is the time they need support however might be best to hold off on this tour. Thank you
