I’m concerned Palermo is burning why would you promote it on a tour? I do understand perhaps this is the time they need support however might be best to hold off on this tour. Thank you
Hi Caroline, thanks so much for bringing this up. Yes, there are fires in some parts of Sicily at the moment. Unfortunately during the summer there is always a risk of fires, especially when there is drought and strong winds. But to answer your question, I would never cancel a tour to a region that desperately needs our help at the moment. By the time the tour takes place (March 2024) the fires will have long died out (and most of them have already) but the need for us to come visit will still be strong. I am in constant contact with our colleagues in Sicily and the places we will be visiting are thankfully unaffected.
