Hi Elizabeth, I work in the marketing department for CNN Original Series. The Tucci Puglia episode airs on 10/23! Season premiere is Calabria on 10/09 at 9p
I'll submit another vote for Bad Sisters. Also looking forward to next series of White Lotus set in Sicily. And how exciting about Sophie and Stanley Tucci!
If you are looking for something to watch, don't miss "The Americans," a series available on Amazon Prime. Russian spies in an American suburb. Really well done.
Ciao from puglia. Had a fantastic week based in 3 different locations. Loving Bad Sisters on Apple TV. Julia on HBO max was great too. Thank you for your newsletters and Sophie is always helpful to us. Rachel, Gary & Nina
That is great news about Emma joining the team! I was in the Centro yesterday and it was packed. I don't think things will slow down until after Thanksgiving and then pick up again for Christmas. Curious to see what mid Jan until Easter is like. All my friends who work in hospitality say next year will be just as, if not more, crowded.
If you want something really compelling to watch, try _The Bridge_. I had a quick look on my (Austrian/Canadian) Netflix, and could find it only in Swedish (original) or German. I’m going to tell you that for sure I watched it in English or at least with English subtitles. Hmm. And there was another version of it kicking around too (maybe American, in the way _The Office_ has several versions — or maybe English?).
I have never been able to watch ST’s show. Not available any which way to me here. Not even in German. I was hoping that some daring individual would load it up onto YouTube, but I’ve never seen it. I can’t even _buy_ it! I’m choked. If it’s available on a DVD, someone let me know please!
We loved The Bridge in English and actually started watching it in Swedish then somehow forgot about it. Will go back and try to find it. In Europe I was able to watch Stanley Tucci on CNN I think but with a VPN blocker
Yes I know it sounds like I have a double standard. But for a long time I've tried to promote tourism to regions other than the usual Florence, Venice and Rome. We used to have week long trips to Rome, but stopped because the city is just way too crowded. Instead we take our guests to other regions that are less known and need tourists like Umbria, Sicily, Puglia and Parma. Rome at the moment is at risk of losing it's identity if something doesn't change.
I totally agree. My week with you and Sophie in Umbria was FANTASTIC!! The week I spent in Rome several years earlier, while wonderful because it’s ROME! - was hurried, crowded, and difficult to see things. I didn’t see much of anything at the Vatican museums because the crowds were so thick you couldn’t even get to the walls where the paintings are! Similar experience in Florence and Venice, both of which I’ve visited a few times. Any trips I take to Italy in the future will be the type you promote - smaller areas that need tourists and still have PLENTY of beautiful places to see and wonderful food. Hoping 2024 is the year I join you again.
I thought I heard Sophie say recently that she worked with her mom and sister. I think that’s terrific. I’m sure you are all pleased. Hope that means she is moving back to Italy?

Thanks for letting us know Robin!! We wrote everyone but no one seemed to know. I'll update the newsletter!
I just finished the first season of The Bear on Hulu. It's about a chef! Some sad parts, but overall I thought it was good:)
Have to try to watch The Bear again. We just didn't get pulled in but will try again.
Also loved Borgen. Ditto to the rec for Shetland and Call My Agent. On Acorn I loved Keeping Faith and The Detectorists.
thanks!

Can't wait for White Lotus Sicily too!

Watched and LOVED! Maybe it's time to watch it again?
If, like too many people, you've never watched the Australian series Rake, starring Richard Roxburgh,
you are in for one of the biggest treats on tv.
Alrighty then!
Bad sisters Apple TV!!! Call my agent on Netflix. Five days at memorial Apple TV. All great!
You will love Bad Sisters. 5 Days at Memorial is amazing, but not for you 😉
Bad Sisters it is! Got a lot of votes here.

We must discuss Virgin River. ha
Virgin River and an aperitivo sounds like a plan!!
Ok the Bresaola salad sounds great for a simple dinner at home too! Do you toast your walnuts? Can't wait to see Sophie on the Tucci episode.
I actually don't toast my walnuts. Hazlenuts always, but walnuts I don't mind untoasted. But of course they are better toasted, I'm just lazy.
Lovely about Emma🥰💯
Also, I just binge watched season one of “Abbott Elementary.” Loved, laughed, goes fast💋
We are in the middle of Abbott. LOVE it!

Masantonio, Italian mystery series with a twist, about two detectives who look for missing people.
thanks!
Why are you complaining about all the tourists in Rome if you make a living off of tourists coming to Italy?
